For the sixth consecutive year Modì will be at Fruit Logistica, the international fair of the fresh fruit and vegetable produce trade, now in its 22nd edition. The Berlin-based event is entirely dedicated to fruit and vegetables professionals and will take place at Messe Berlin, 5-7 February 2014.

Modì thus becomes part of a context that more than any other represents the ideal place to present to the world the concrete answer to the requirements of both producers, who seek more sustainable agricultural practices, and consumers, more and more geared towards an environment-friendly lifestyle, and it does so with an emphasis on its characteristics as the quintessential eco-friendly apple, starting from the tree itself, extremely resistant to the main pathogens and to integrated agricultural production on the field, which reduces intervention by man to a minimum. And, above all, it comes with the Carbon Footprint measurement, which it presented at last year’s at Fruit Logistica: a technique that best describes the uniqueness of the Modì product, thanks to the Science and Technology Faculty of Bolzano University, which, commissioned by the CIV, carried out this type of measurement highlighting a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere of up to 49% compared to other sample apple varieties at the same production conditions.

Fruit Logistica is the world’s leading fair for the fresh fruit and vegetable supply chain and from its very first edition has involved all the main professionals in the trade, from producers to wholesalers and retailers. This year over 2400 firms from all over the world will meet in the German capital, with the opportunity of getting a feel of the latest market trends and of taking part in trade seminars and workshops at a global level.
